This past week was a different kind of week. We didn't trek
we just worked at projects at the depot and trails.
Actually, it was busy, just not trekking.
We had some graffiti painted on an old wool storage shed
that sits next to the trail tracks. The ranch asked us to paint
over it and clean it up. So we did. It took one coat
of primer to prepare the building.
Then we painted a gray over the primer.
Actually the picture we painted over was kinda
good, we felt bad to cover it. One missionary said
we should leave a note for the painters and tell
them if they would paint pictures of handcarts
and pioneers we would leave it up.
This morning at 5:30 am we got up and took a ride
over to the High Country, where all the trees and wildlife
are. We saw a moose and she has a baby with her, we didn't
get a very good picture of the baby. Elder Cowan has
seen a moose every year on the ranch, this is my
first time seeing one.
Pretty cool.
Shortly after the moose a BIG BULL ELK was seen.
We really didn't get a very good photo of it.
But, you should know Elder Cowan was so excited
he said it was worth the whole trip.
And this was the trip, lots of dust.
So much dust we couldn't see the road in front of us.
I wish I had taken pictures earlier they would
show you what it was like.
We were totally engulfed in dust. Dust so heavy we
used the window wipers to swipe it off, like snow flakes.
To relax I laid out on the fancy bed in the guest room
at the ranch office. No, they didn't invite me to spend the night.
So few pictures to post this week I am posting a picture
of two bunnies who wouldn't move out of the
road, they were busy, if you know what I mean.
This is a gift we received from the Brinkerhoff's this week.
Their wonderful daughter Carol made this for us and
she is so good she did it while on vacation driving to
the heads in South Dakota.
In the corner there is a little handcart and the words
"Keep on Trekking"
What a wonderful gift and keepsake for us.
We love the Brinkerhoff's and we will miss them and
their family when we leave in a few weeks.
